Deep amber and reddish-brown in color. The base wine (Langhe DOC Nebbiolo) is flavored with herbs, spices, and wormwood (Artemisia), and sugar and alcohol are added. It is then stabilized and aged briefly before bottling. The aroma is dominated by wormwood, spices, and dried citrus, complemented by cloves and cinnamon, as well as caramel and dried fruits. The taste is sweet and bitter, structured, and aromatic. The finish is long, spicy, and bitter. It pairs well as an aperitif and in cocktails. We recommend serving it with cheeses, olives, nuts, and cured meats.
