Very dark amber in color. Aged for at least 25 years on the lees in small barrels and casks.
The aroma is dominated by jammy fruits, quince, and exotic wood, complemented by minerality, rancio, and resinous/wine-like notes, along with a dense texture and a well-balanced high acidity.
The flavor is rich, powerful, and onctuous, with sweetness balanced by lovely acidity. The finish is long, deep, and complex.
It pairs well with blue-veined cheeses, foie gras, and dark desserts. We recommend serving it with chocolate desserts, nut-based pastries, and strong cheeses.
