Deep mahogany in color, with hints of amber and sea amber. Single distillation in an Armagnac continuous still, very long aging in oak barrels (vintage 1960), oxidative development, bottled at peak maturity.
The aroma is dominated by dried plums, figs, and orange marmalade, complemented by notes of old wood, tobacco, and leather, as well as cocoa, coffee, spices, and a hint of smokiness.
The palate is full-bodied, silky, highly complex, with soft alcohol. The finish is exceptionally long, warm, spicy, and slightly bitter.
Pairs well with cigars and dark chocolate. We recommend serving it with foie gras, nutty desserts, and aged cheeses.
