Deep, dark garnet red in color. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. 30–50% new barrels.
The aroma is dominated by blackberry, black currant, blueberry, cherry, and red fruits, complemented by roasted coffee, licorice, vanilla, chocolate, cedar, mint, graphite, and subtle oak notes, along with a balance of power and elegance, density, and rounded tannins.
The palate is fuller than average, rich, and silky. The finish is long, flavorful, and fresh.
Pairs well with beef, lamb, game, and hard cheeses. We recommend serving it with ribeye, roast lamb, venison, and Comté.
