Deep garnet red in color. Aged for 14–18 months in French oak barrels, 50–60% of which are new.
The aroma is dominated by blackberry, black currant, black cherry, and blueberry, complemented by anise, wet stone, cedar, cigar box, mint, tobacco, and herbs, with a balance between power and elegance and dense yet refined tannins.
The palate is fuller than average, silky, and well-structured. The finish is persistent, dry, and mineral-spicy.
Pairs well with beef, lamb, game, and hard cheeses. We recommend serving it with entrecôte, roast lamb, venison, and Comté.
