Deep garnet red in color. Aged half in oak barrels and half in concrete tanks. Some new oak.
The aroma is dominated by blackberry, blueberry, black currant, and black cherry, complemented by iris, vanilla, licorice, toasted bread, tobacco, cardamom, and violet, with a round and smooth texture, ripe fruit, and fresh spice.
The palate is fuller than average, soft, and velvety. The finish is long, fruity, with a slightly toasty aftertaste.
Pairs well with beef, duck, game, and aged cheeses. We recommend serving it with duck fillet, beef stew, venison stew, and hard cheeses.
